Will finally has a good single appreciation thread

Whether you liked the party starter video or not, its great to finally have a good rap single from Will. Party Starter is one of the best tracks on Lost and Found and its great to have it as a single!! Wills last few singles have been Switch (Party/club/pop/rap - not much substance in the lyrics) 1000 kisses (pop/rnb) Black suits comin (less said about this the better) Freakin It (not a great track) Will2k(pop/rap) Wild Wild West (pop/rap) Miami(pop/rap) etc etc etc This time Will is bringin it with a high energy rap track .. but he's actually saying something in the lyrics..his 2nd and 3rd verses are great :word: :gettinjiggywitit: :gettinjiggywitit: :gettinjiggywitit:

Yeah, I was thinking this as I was watching the video one time - excluding So Fresh, this is the first PROPER solo track Will has done a video for isn't it?

I just hope it gets played a lot...

I thought I remember you making a post before about "Switch" being a good single? :stickpoke: :lolsign: I don't know if pop radio is gonna play this as much as "Switch" but I wouldn't be surprised if black radio gave it some, at this point Will could use all the street cred he could get, well it's not like 50's singles have substance either though. :willvspaparazzi:

The great thing about party starter is it can appeal to both a pop audience and a more "hardcore" hip hop fan. Its got that element of fun with a serious message. I think a lot of people with wake up to Wills lyrical skill.

I think there is a slight possibility that black radio might play it too, it just depends how stubborn they are, but hey its thier loss. Switch made it in the charts by itself with little promo, so im sure ps can do the same.

Yep this is a great single, and i finally feel it as a single now there's a video accompanying it.

Lets not forget Just the Two of Us...

That was a very good single... (r&b/rap or whatever, it was great single). Party Starter may be the best single since Just the Two of Us.

I think it's a good single choice...but a lil' late. I think "Party Starter" will definitly pick up some heat. But i think it was important that "Switch" waz released 1st. When i listen 2 "Switch" now, i think it is doper than what it waz when it 1st came out...and that's rare 4 me.

Nah Switch wasnt wack, it was ok. Freakin it was terrible, but the worst ones must be the ones hurting Wills "street cred"; the movie stuff and Will2K... tracks created only for promoting...

i hate to say this, but for me party starter is not his best track..i personally can't compare this track to tracks like 'men in black', 'wild wild west', 'gettin' jiggy wit it' and 'Will2k'..party starter reminds me a little beat of gangsta beats and 50 cent beats..ofcouse it's WAY better than this yet for me it's not his best single. i still thinks that 'Tell me Why' will be one if his best single and i do agree that songs like 'Party Starter' can get smith right back to the music scene.
