mfuqua23
I hadn't recorded a freestyle in a while, and I seem to be accustom to doing one before I "put out" an album. After I recorded a song, I did a freestyle to two beats. Little Brother's "Hiding Place", and Talib + Hi Tek's "Ghetto Afterlife". I'm not sure about posting it. Here's the lyrics tho. I couldn't make everything out, but I'm definately getting better freestyling. I typed it as accurate as possible, even what's not literally correct. Feedback appreciated. “Promotional Freestyle” Intro: Yo, where you gonna hide, when that 2006 Peace of Mind drops? Yo, yo, come on, be like… Where ya goin’ hide.. Yo, where ya goin’ run? Nowhere Yo, yo, yo Verse: You mind as well just let me the **** thru I’ll be on that high school mode of the attitudes where b****es get fooled It’s not understand, don’t mess wit my food Or I’ll do you like Talib Kweli said he do on “Rock On” Feelin’ it and bein’ we can box on This is how we do it and gettin’ wit the track Something to form, back in 1986 I was born in a section when the Jesus get fixed with a not face on religion or the superstition with the prestigious of crack in the way that we livin’ And in advance, so, put ya wristbands in the air Understand, feelin it, rock it up in the cd player Mispronounce my name, you get ****! thePrince
Yeah FuQ, awesome work. It's a shame this thread hasn't got much of a response. I've always admired your freestyling abilities, it's pretty obvious you're very capable of thinking on the spot, saying what you want to say, and getting out good vocab and structured sentences that makes sense. There are some pretty deep lines in there, keep it up. I look over the literary errors, because what else can you expect in a freestyle, also the good stuff kind of cancels out the mistakes. Know what I mean? Oh, and you said 'understand' 29 times, but I didn't see it as a problem at all. :2thumbs: These were some of the lines that I liked best: "Where ya destiny to be, gettin down on ya knees" "It’s like dark vs light, black vs white And wrong vs right, but that one’s ok, even tonight" "Where ya gonna hide when it’s understandin’ wit the statutory Never boring, understand you makin more and Lookin into Pac eyes, poster’s on my wall Tryna figure out if I can stand, and got the gaul" "And so I devour the power All these emcees think they last when they cds ain’t worth the hour What it mean to pay ‘em $18" "And it’s like that, not give a damn about a black man ???????? Black fists is understandin’, upliftin’ of the revolution And then a, how you do it when you gotta get into it Just to take ya melodies, try to follow felonies" "Feel and understand struggle for survival Rollin that dice, and it’s so six sided Six shooter, flip it, revolutionary writer Dealin’ how you divided playin Russian Roulette Then you understand the feelin, the bullet got more sweat than you do when it’s elixir, luxurious ya brain And understand, the heavy getter, back into contain And if it’s getting twisted with the lyrical abilities to killin’ emcees off like pop, pop, pop!
