Its JP
Hey I wrote this song the other day its kinda about what I think about mainstream these days and I dont think its that good at all but I figured I havent posted a song here yet, so what the hell right “The Situation” Verse 1: Theres a situation; plaguing our nation And everybody seems to think that Im hatin Well I’m telling you I’m not I’m just expression every feeling I’ve got But so what if theyre negative I think the problem is evident Rap isn’t what it used to be It didn’t used to matter who it was produced by see? It used to be about what the rapper would say But now today, it’s just about produced by Dre, or Kanye And if a rapper drops an old cliché He’s treated like he’s 2Pac reborn He is completely adorn Cuz he raps about what he’s on Talkin about acid, speed, coke, and weed Today that’s a double platinum album guaranteed It shouldn’t be so easy to succeed You should need to be able to rhyme Not just rap about how your dad left your mom And how you grew up sellin drugs, befriendin thugs Pullin out your gun and shootin off some slugs Chorus: Something’s wrong with rap these days Looks to me like something changed Now instead of MCs You’ve got a buncha ‘OGs’ At least that’s what they tell you they are How they smoked weed, then stole a car Startin rappin, now they’re moneys expanded Talkin bout growin up in the ghetto But writing the song in a mansion Verse 2: The biggest problem is all the whack rappers Doing the whack rapping But for some reason the fans cant stop clapping But these rappers are just takin money from you So I’ma go ahead and tell you a few Well first theres Slim Shady Used to rap about he was crazy But now he cries about his daughter What happened to the days when he’d rap about manslaughter Hi my name is {what} my name is {who} my name is I love you Halie, Are you happy now your dads a big baby But I can’t forget to mention 50 cent I haven’t seen a good song from this man yet Theres just a lil bit, and the candy shop Im surprised these didn’t make the rap game stop Now I can see why this man got shot He needs to shut his mouth, I can’t understand him anyways Lets see who else is there these days That guy who sings about tippin fo fo’s Whos Mike Jones Whos Mike Jones Not one of his fans even knows But he can rap the numbers to his phone So lets all go and buy his album We’ll listen to Mike Jones, but not The Game? Man whats wrong with rap these days? Chorus
mfuqua23
Nice and str8 foward. But for your previous stuff, I think I'd get off 50, Em, and Mike Jones for a bit, unless of course you calling for war. "And if a rapper drops an old cliché He’s treated like he’s 2Pac reborn" - I like that a lot. It's very true. Everything else is pretty general, so it'd just be a matter of who would get captivated by your message in the song.

kbfprince
I like the concept, it will be interesting to hear as well. 'We’ll listen to Mike Jones, but not The Game? Man whats wrong with rap these days?' I think it would be better if you would put another rapper here that isn't as mainstream, cause the Game has a lot of fans and he gets his share of media attention too.
