Lerkot
My friend, whos 15, have always been into bad stuff...I've said a thousand times he shouldnt do **** but he keeps dumb down and I'm completely helpless. I've always been able to influence my friends to stay away from acting dumb, and kept them away from teaching their friends to do things they shouldnt do... but this guy.. I mean, he is nice and all, I've known him for ten years and I thought he would grow in my shadow like he did the first years... but he uses me as some kind of reserve friend when nobody else is home.. I got the reputation of a friend of high morale and that is the bottom of the world if you ask a normal Swedish teen. I'm just the wierd guy with the wierd ideas of life and with the beautiful language, to him at least.. Anyway, some week ago I asked him what music his eleven year old sister listens to. He said "everything.. rock, Britney Spears, 50 Cent.. she is turning more the rock way but I think I've got her to like 50, to like Candy Shop and all that" and me, who he know is anti-50, says, with a sarcastic voice, "wow you got her to like 50 cent"... he answers proud, "yes". I get really angry and say "havent you heard the lyrics in Candy Shop?" and he answers "Yeah but she doesnt understand that ****... she's 11, she thinks a lollypop is a lollypop.". I raise my voice and say "what the hell of a brother are you, your supposed to be role model for your sister... you dont want her to do that **** 50 talks about, you shouldnt feed her with that kind of negativity, get the **** away from my house". I've decided not to talk to him again, did I made the right choise?
PeaceAngel
Well I think it's a bit harsh that you kicked him out of your house.... but I agree that 11-year-olds really shouldn't be listening to 50 Cent. Maybe it would be better if you tell him about how 50's lyrics can cause his sister to do some things that aren't very good. You probably shouldn't have yelled tho, that was a bit harsh. Maybe just try talking to him again about the situation.

PeaceAngel
Well everyone likes different kinds of music, and if people like 50 Cent, that's their own problem.
Turntable
No Problem with someone liking 50. But this is just crazy! She`s clearly to young for **** like that. I mean when she`s 13 she can understand waht it`s about and make her own opinion. Than it`s ok.. But this **** just aint right. I maybe would have kicked him out too... I`m shure I would have yelled.I can understand you. I got the reputation of a friend of high morale and that is the bottom of the world if you ask a normal Swedish teen. I allways try to keep my freinds on the good side too. And I realy had a problem with one too. But that was way behind music. It was more about drugs and stealing.. Anyway, I totaly feel you on this!! thePrince
Hey man, stand up for what you believe in! Good move, but you don't need our opinion as to whether or not you made the right decision. In my eyes, if you do that, you are having doubts and looking to justify it. J-o-e
I jus say it's only music, the first rapper I listented to wasn't Will Smith, It was Big and Pac saying how they smoke blunts all day, and saying fúck the world, and I knew it was only music, so Lerkort don't get so anoyed with peoples tastes of music, it's thier decision not yours, and it seems that your basing your friendship with him on music which isn't right, if you talk to him more you might find you have more in common than you think, so don't shun him out because he don't like the same music, we are unique, each and every one of us, and Candy Shop isn't the worst 50 cent song for language, want to hear some language, hear "Back Down" or maybe "Heat"...Candy Shop is a club hit in the world's eyes,
Lerkot
Prince: Well, even if y'all would have said it was wrong.. I would have sticked to it.. but I thought it could be an interesting discussion. The parents is good enough at English, thats a thing I can guarantee, and they are nice persons as well but they dont have a clue of what their children are doing.. PeaceAngel
Well, like I said before, people like different kinds of music and there's nothing you can do about it.
Jonny 5
I'm just the wierd guy with the wierd ideas of life and with the beautiful language :word:  I wouldn't worry about it Lerk, unless you want to get him back as a friend... who do you care about more? Him, or his sister? It could be worse... he could be showing her porn...

mfuqua23
I bet Jonny takes her under his wing and tries to change her but finds out she's just like that "Miami Video Dancing Girl" he was infuated with, via the 50 Cent song "Candy Shop". So he gives in to "her" sexual demands. Happy trails buddy.
