YOU
well, jjfp boycotted because grammys at first don't have awards to hip hop artists, and then they jump to stage.this is all i know about that years after jjfp won a grammy

JumpinJack AJ
JJ+FP didn't have the 1st platnium-certified album. That waz definitly Run-DMC or Beastie Boys. Here a thought tho'...waz FP the 1st emcee 2 take part in a pop tribute? Of course there were Hip-Hop posse cuts like "We're All In The Same Gang" and "Self Distruction"...but when it comes 2 a pop cattle-call tribute, FP might have been the 1st 2 do that with the Voices That Care project. Another thing...DJ Jazzy Jeff got an endorsment deal with Starter back in 1993. Did any other DJ (not an emcee or rapper) ever get an endorsement deal without being part of a group? bigted
I think Run-Dmc's "Raising Hell" was hip-hop's multi-platinum album in 1986, I think some of their earlier albums were the first albums to go gold and platinum.... Beastie Boys' "Licensed To Ill" was released in '87, I think they were the first to go triple platinum and then later on MC Hammer was the 1st to go diamond.... Now I think FP was the 1st in hip-hop to be nominated for an Oscar for his role in "Ali"... Edited January 12, 2006 by bigted
