MaxFly
Sounds like people are happy that Kanye and Mariah didn't win too many awards.
bigted
De La Soul won a Grammy, I thought I'd never say those words but it's been a long time coming!!! I'm not trying to be a hater or anything but since 99% of this board don't like G Unit anyway I'm gonna say I'm happy to know that 50 Cent got snubbed of winning anything!!! Bow Wow's girl Ciara got shut out too...:kekeke: :stickpoke: :wickedwisdom: I didn't see 50 perform or even present an award either, was he even there? It feels good to know that he's quickly becoming irrelevant in the music industry, Will beat him a couple months ago at the AMAs and now he's shut out at the Grammies.... :davidblaine: So is Kanye gonna start ranting that he didn't win album of the year? MaxFly
I'm still trying to figure out how Mariah and Kanye West "lost big"... They both won 3 grammys a piece... U2 won 5 grammys... John Legend won 3 grammys as well. It seems like they all had pretty good nights... No one "lost big."
bigted
... No one "lost big." Well 50 Cent and Eminem "lost big" but they're nobodys anyway, lol, it's nice to know that high quality talent prevailed in the winners, seriously that was a waste of nominations... :paperbag: Edited February 9, 2006 by bigted
Lhunagar
well .. best rap album should've been 'be' and best rap performance by a duo or group should've been 'the corner' and of course Will should've been nominated .. but .. whatever .. I'm pretty happy De La Soul won an award for their work with the gorillaz tho ..
Turntable
Cant say it better than Max did.
JumpinJack AJ
Nobody lost big. Articles have headlines like that 2 get readers. I watched alot of the show last nite and it wazn't 2 bad. I think it's mainly becuz i've learned 2 be open 2 other music styles since commercial rap dosen't do it 4 me. Of course i'd put it on mute when there waz a performance i didn't wanna see and unpause the CD player....but i liked the show compared 2 The Grammies of the 90's. bigted
This is probably one of the better years for the top music artists winning Grammies, it wasn't just about who had the highest selling album in who won unlike over the past few years, 50 Cent and Eminem sold as much as Mariah did but they didn't win anything but she won 3 which is great 'cause she's a lot better quality artist than them, the icing in the cake would've been for "Lost and Found" to have been nominated and winning best rap album 'cause it was the best by far but I'll take Kanye over everyone else that was there except Common anyday even though his ego gets on my nerves sometimes...
