bigted
Source mentioned "He's The DJ, I'm The Rapper" among the 100 greatest rap albums in their 10th anniversary issue back in '98, I don't know how many mics they gave it, it was probably one of the first albums that they rated since the magazine started the same year as that album came out... Turntable
There are about 30 Albums that got 5 Mics I think. I saw this list. So they might got 4.5 or something.. It stardet in 88? How come they gave Radio 5 Mics then? That was like 3 years earlyer, lol Edited July 19, 2006 by Turntable

WesSyde
yeah thanx Brakes. i read about the Source and found out about a controversey rating Little Brother's "The Minstrel Show" album which Benzino wanted to rate lower than some other guy. so i clicked on "The Minstrel Show" link to find out that BET refuses to play LB cuz they are "too intelligent" for the BET audience. this has no relevance to the topic but i thought it was interesting, and even tho i knew most of this, its still proposturous to me. They kicked Benziono out tho. Since about 4 Issues allready. They cleared all theyr beefs now. But teh Benzino Time wasnt all that bad.. He said some things about Politics etc. that woulndt hve been said without someone like him in charge. Still, I think its okay that they kicked him caus of the personal beefs. bigted
Didn't Benzino try to get the Source to give one of his albums 5 mics?, lol, I think the controversey was that they were giving Tony Yayo's album more mics than Little Brother since those albums came out around that time and they got mad 'cause of that, yeah well Interscope thought "Tell Me Why" was too political to come out so it's definately believable that BET wouldn't want to play Little Brother, really the only way to get out there is if you dumb down now, that's why it's so hard for Kel Spencer to get a record deal... Turntable
No, They totally ripped on Tonys and gave it 2.5 and Little Brother got 4 I believe. The Source, under Benzino, had beef with G-Unit/Shady. And no.. Benzino didnt want 5 Mics. Its actauly totaly diffrent. He aranged that they reviewe his albums, but they didnt give it any Mics. They just made a review.
