Vipa
http://sohh.com/articles/article.php/9850 Despite rumors that Method Man has been dropped by Island Def Jam, the emcee is still with the legendary label, according to sources. Rumors recently began spreading that Meth was dropped from IDJ due to low album sales. Meth's independent reps and a Def Jam spokesperson both denied the rumors. Well that clears it up, that'd be weak for them to do that since it was their fault that he didn't sell, hopefully this is a wake up call for them to get it together and give their artists promotion if they want to profit, if they want to keep Method Man, they need to promote him, and basically like it was said earlier they're getting rid a lot of the artists that basically brought them big profit for many years for a bunch of one hit wonders, I don't think any of these artists that're signing there are gonna have that long careers, it's watered down music, not smart buisiness... JumpinJack AJ
I think that some legendary (and smart) Hip-Hop vets need 2 get 2gether and create a label where 80's and 90's artists who are responcible, positive, creative, and hard working people can go 2 be properly promoted and supported...reguardless of what the pop and commercial rap fronts are going thru.' Big labels just don't get it or don't support it when they get an artist like that.
